HOT OFF THE PRESS!

WE'RE in the semis! Thursday night saw us unanimously win the final heat of the Hull Daily Mail Talent Trail 2009 at the Dene Park Sports Club. I for one am gonna hold my hand up & say I was pretty blase about the whole shebang.......that was until I'd seen the competition! With only the top 2 acts from 8 going through, we all thought we'd crapped out as there were 2 or 3 superb acts. I mean the young girl with the operatic voice was astounding!!

We think our semi final is again Dene Park on Tues 5th May, when we are going to have to pull out all the stops, if we have any chance to get ourselves into the final at the Hull City Hall May 20th. Rock on!

Big thanks go out to my good mate Simon Stevens for offering to get behind the kit for us as Mike had a prior committment. Cheers Si, you done us proud me old china!

Click here to see the story, think there may be a video up there soon too-

We Came, We Saw, We Rocked!!

What a cracking night! The lovely little country village of Burton Pidsea reverberated to our sounds last night. One of the organisers deemed it an overwhelming success & hopefully we will be back there in December. Here's a taster, more pics to follow!

Mike's Bands

Leeds Festival 05

Mike has been behind the kit with lots of bands over the years including the original outfit The Last People on Earth who are on the verge of breaking through to the big time... I saw 'em at The Sesh in Hull & was mightily impressed. Good luck boys!

Ben's Bands- part2

Ok, so this is the 90's, times have changed, the Chippendales are huge & Benny Boy has realised that ditching the bass guitar in favour of prancing around in various states of undress can pay him a few more dollars... Housequake remain one of the busiest & best showgroups on the circuit.

Andy's Bands- part 1

Promo shot for Fenris Wolfe circa 1990- can you spot our very own Andy?

BEN'S BANDS- part 1

HERE'S a little trip down memory lane with one photo from the early 80's when I played bass for Passion Spent (right) & Rhythm Nation (left) in the late 80's.... You may be a little shocked to see what I got up to in the 90's, but I'll spare you that for a little while longer! Am going to pester Mike, Andy & Steph for some of their old band pics too so check the blog in the future to see 'em!

Our Fans- The Boy From Brazil!

This crazy guy had come all the way from Rio to MUCKY MURPHY'S just to see one of our shows.......ok he was in the area visiting friends anyway, but he's now officially a BAD DOG fan, and was REALLY enthusiastic about Steph! He also loved the music and wanted more more more!

Goes to show, we reach the parts other bands fail to reach ;-) We will be back at MURPHY'S rockin the house FRI MAY 1ST

UP NEXT!

JUST to keep you rock fans in the loop....... don't go to the Highway in Hull this fri expecting to see us because they've cancelled the show at their end grrrrrr. "But we think you're great" they said......go figure! Anyways suffice to say we will be back there Fri July 31st.

This forthcoming Saturday will see us back in action at Burton Pidsea Village Hall.. Tickets should be available from the venue & I am reliably informed there are roadside signs in the surrounding villages. Be there!

Yours Truly

Easter weekend shows

We had 2 great gigs this weekend kicking off with Thursday night at the Sportsman in Hull... Went down great as usual but unfortunately for us we were booked to play the UPSTAIRS function room! Jeez, carrying the gear upstairs before the gig is bad enough, but lugging it downstairs at the end of a hard rockin' night is a MOTHER! However, we had a lovely message from landlady Pam saying what a great night they'd had.....sweet!

Friday night was a night off, think Andy went off on his Goldwing (now fitted with sound system- woo hoo!) to a bike rally whilst yours truly couldn't get off the sofa after tweaking a muscle lifting the gear out of the Sportsman....rock & bloody roll!
Saturday night saw us back on the road to Doncaster to a club in Bentley, trouble was, there was two clubs in Bentley with similar names & half of us arrived at the right venue while the other half of the band enthusiastically loaded the gear in at the wrong venue......ooops. Never mind we went on to have a storming night with Steph in fine voice & me sporting my new stage attire, & ended up being asked to go back for New Years Eve. Result!!

Our favourite venues- part 1

Over the course of a year we get to play so many different types of venue, but there's always a few that we particularly like! Why? Well, could be a variety of reasons.... a great stage, a great crowd, free beer, good lookin' bar maids....well you get the picture! One of these great venues for us has to be The Sun Inn at Beverley. They love us there and we rock it hard every time to a full house. Here's a few piccys from the Sun Inn and we'll see ya there Fri May 22nd
